Curriculum

Amrita Vidyalayams are value based educational facilities managed by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Excellence in everything is our motto.

The school environment is made stress free. Co-curricular activities are part and parcel of the curriculum. We follow the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation prescribed by the CBSE. All the staff members are given in-service training.

Twenty-seven Amrita Vidyalayam schools are functioning
in Kerala alone.
Twenty-two of them are affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) out of which 16 are senior secondary schools having classes up to XII. Of the six schools in Karnataka, four are CBSE affiliated and the rest are awaiting CBSE inspection. We have a state of the art school at New Delhi, which is fully air conditioned and offers day boarding.

All the affiliated schools are members of the local Sahodaya School Complexes. Sahodaya School complexes are groups of affiliated schools recognized by CBSE. They have started with the mission of sharing and caring. All our schools are active members of the local Sahodayas.

One Amrita Vidyalayam at Kollam, Kerala is following ICSE syllabus. The rest of the schools are primary ones awaiting CBSE inspection soon.

All Amrita Vidyalayams have the legacy of bringing 100 percent pass for the Board exams. M.A. Math is sponsoring the fees of brilliant students who are economically poor. Almost 500 students are availing such scholarships.

Scheme of Studies

The students are all taught in English and generally follow the CBSE syllabus. Through the special emphasis placed on teaching English, the medium that opens doors to the vast frontiers of science and technology, the students are prepared to meet the challenges of the globally competitive environment. For a second language, the students can study either their native tongue or Sanskrit. Perhaps most importantly, Amrita Vidyalayams provide a training ground for learning the "Art and Science of Right Living." Students imbibe qualities such as obedience, humility, compassion, righteousness, fortitude, optimism, self-confidence, fearlessness and patriotism.

The students are encouraged to develop a responsible attitude towards themselves, their school and society at large. The Science of Living and meditation classes are conducted at all schools. Sanskrit chants, bhajans and yoga are integral parts of the curriculum.
