With the blessings and guidance of our most beloved Amma, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, the first Amrita Vidyalayam (AV) opened in 1987 in Kodungallur, Thrissur district, Kerala. Amrita’s aim was to provide quality, value-based education to the young, irrespective of social or economic standing. Owing to the sheer purity of Amma’s purpose and her staunch commitment to this endeavour, Amrita has grown into a chain of 48 schools located in various parts of India. Its mission to make value-based education accessible too all is fast becoming fulfilled.

Rather, it is a nourishing blend of academic learning, culture, mind-training practices like yoga and meditation, sports, personality development and character building. Practising AUM meditation at the beginning of each class enables students to become composed, and thus receptive to the teachings that follow.

Amrita uses the latest and emerging technologies to enhance the learning experience. This includes ‘Amrita Learning,’ a computer-aided teaching technique developed by researchers at Amrita Vishwa Vidya Peetham, the deemed university.
In today’s world, access to and acquisition of knowledge is vital. In order to ensure that quality education is not confined to just the economically well off, Amrita offers fee waivers and concessions to thousands of deserving and meritorious students every year.

Amrita offers a comprehensive education, with instructions at the pre-primary, primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Standard X CBSE Examination Results

A total of 640 students from 16 Amrita Vidyalayams throughout Kerala sat for the Standard X CBSE Examinations. Sixty six percent of the students passed with distinction, and the others passed with high marks.

Standard XII CBSE Examination Results

Keeping up the record, Amrita produced equally enviable results in the senior secondary section also. Ms.Anjali.S of AV Haripad, stood first among all Amrita Vidyalayams with 94.4%. Vishnu Shankar of AV Palakkad stood second scoring 93.2% and Vineeth Vijayan of AV Thiruvalla came third with 92.8%.

Sreejith K.M. of AV Ottapalam stood first in the school with 92.6% followed by Ms.Lalithambika V.M of AV Kozhikode with 88.6%. Sreelakshmi.K of AV Kodungallur scored 86.2% followed by Lakshmi.A of AV Thiruvananthapuram with 86%. Ms.Vrindha Vijayan of PBVR, Mr.Ajith P Vithayathil of AV EKM, Ms.Nithya P.R. of AV Puthiyakavu and Mr.Rohith Murali Warrior of AV Chavakkad stood first in their respective schools.
