We have state of the art facilities, and our Computer, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics laboratories are enviable. The students are exposed to the world of knowledge through the vast number of books in our libraries.

Computer Education

Computer Education initiates our young students into the captivating world of computing, and introduces them to its wide and ever increasing range of applications.

Computer Education is introduced in Standard 1 in all of our schools. We have developed a unique curriculum accepting valuable inputs from various international agencies involved in the field of computer education programme for Schools.

Phonetics Lab

A unique Phonetics lab at the first grade ensures that children at Amrita are always a step ahead in language as well. Phonetics, an interactive program in which the computer interacts with the kids through questions, comments, etc, thus enticing the children to speak. The program then detects flaws in the child’s pronunciation of words during the course of the dialogue and prompts the child to correct the usage immediately, without which it won’t respond to the child’s innate curious questions. Thus the kids learn the science of accurate pronunciation effortlessly even when their counterparts are still grappling over mastery in speech.

Sports

A healthy body promotes a healthy mind. Amrita Vidyalayam encourages the children to be healthy in both body and mind.

Sports provide an excellent opportunity for our students to stay healthy, develop good interpersonal skills and concentration, and foster camaraderie, among other things.

Audio Visual Rooms for Subject Education

The world is changing faster than ever before. The development of the Internet, the discovery of possible life on Mars, and the cloning of sheep, to name a few areas of innovation, have opened up new vistas.

Students around the world today are exposed to new learning methods so powerful in their impact, they may well transform our entire concept of education. Therefore, it has now become more critical than ever before to provide our children an opportunity to become globally competitive.

To achieve this, we are striving to provide our children access to learning through the use of text, multimedia, audio, video and the Internet to bring a world of knowledge to our children in so fascinating a manner that it arouses their curiosity and makes learning fun. It will open their minds and prepare them not just for the next class or the next exam, but also for their lifetime.

At select schools we have introduced 'Amrita Learning' developed by Amrita Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Using Computer Aided Learning (CAL) methods, Amrita Learning focuses on kids aged 4 and above, providing a self paced, individualized curriculum in core subjects like Math, English and Science.

Science Laboratories

I hear, I forget;
I see, I remember;
I do, I understand.

True to this ancient saying, we emphasize hands-on practical work, as far as possible, to help our students understand the theories of science. Lab work helps bring forth the child's innate curiosity and channels it into a systematic exploration
of things unknown.

All Amrita Vidyalayams at the middle-school and higher levels have well equipped laboratories and modern scientific teaching aids. Our laboratories attest to our commitment to provide high quality education.

Mathematics Laboratory

We have embarked on an ambitious project to equip our schools with a Maths Lab. A recent concept, Maths Labs can help tremendously in explaining abstract mathematical principles through do-it-yourself exercises, models and special teaching aids. This will go a long way in making the study of Maths, dreaded by many, more learner-friendly.

Libraries

The Amrita Vidyalayam libraries are well stocked with books.
It is ensured that a typical library in an Amrita Vidyalayam has an average of seven books per student. Care is also taken to furnish the libraries with good and rare reference books.

We encourage the students to develop a wide-reading habit, so they will be well informed and develop a good command of the English language.
